Distinguished Zen Resort guest Cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko, together with NASA astronaut Tim Kopra and British astronaut Tim Peake (of the European Space Agency), has lift off in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft early this morning from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The Soyuz TMA-19M spacecraft has arrived at the orbiting lab, after Soyuz commander Yuri Malenchenko took manual control of the craft when its automated docking system aborted an initial docking try. At 2 p.m. ET (1900 GMT), the crew will enter the space station. You can watch that live here, courtesy of NASA TV. LAUNCH VIDEO

Cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and his family has been distinguished Zen Resort guests in the November 2014. Besides spending some time with his family, detoxing prior to current space launch, he even joined Zen Dive Resorts for some fun dives. We showed him the underwater beauties of Menjangan Island with Zen Harmony Diving concept. Upon the dives he compared the entire experience to being in the space and we are now sincerely humbled knowing that he is back there.
